Mike Kersker, Head Coach email
Kersker has
more than a decade of NCAA Div. III head coaching experience with Salem
St. College and Endicott College. He has his NSCAA National and
Advanced National Diplomas and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts
and Sciences, Concentration on Coaching from San Diego State
University. He is the president of New England Aztec and is the
Athletic Director at the Waring School in Beverly, MA. He was the
starting outside back for Salem State College's NCAA Final Four team in
1990, a captain at NCAA Division I San Diego State University, and GM
of the Boston Aztecs PASL Indoor Men's National Champions in 2005. In
2008 he was inducted into Beverly High School's Athletic Hall of Fame.
In 2009, he served as head coach for the Boston Aztec NPSL men's team,
the NPSL's 2009 Atlantic Conference champions.
Dushawne Simpson, Head of Player Personnel email
A native of Hartford, CT, Simpson was the Boston Aztec's head coach for the first four seasons of the team's existence, improving the team's standing in the league each year. Stepping into the role of Head of Player Personnel will allow for year-round assessment and recruitment of potential players. He also served as head coach for the Boston Aztec Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) men's team from 2004-07, winning the 2005 PASL National Championship, and served as head coach for the Boston Aztec National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) team in 2008. For the past five years he has been the Girls' Technical Director for New England Aztec, the Boston Aztec youth club.
Simpson had a standout collegiate playing career at Southern Connecticut University and later at Salem State College. He also played professional in the USL for the NH Phantoms, Connecticut Wolves and Boston Bulldogs.
Brandon Nelson, General Manager email
A native of Reading, MA, Nelson served as assistant and Goalkeeper coach for the Boston Aztec WPSL team for the past three seasons. In the role, his focus will be maintaining the seamless on-field operation of the team and building fan support during games and in the media. He has an extensive corporate background working in the sports industry with the adidas Group and Nike Affiliates Inc. He also manages a number of the business aspects for the New England Aztec youth club as well as running their goalkeeping program.
