We are soccer guys…Blue Sombrero was founded as a soccer company and the sport remains at the root of everything that we do. Even our name, which has sparked more than a few questions, relates back to soccer…

Our company name Blue Sombrero is not as random as it may at first seem. The name was chosen to always keep us close to our roots. A “Sombrero” is a soccer move when an offensive player flicks the ball over a defender’s head and runs around the defender to maintain possession.  It is a name often used in Central and South America and Europe and it comes from the outline that is made by the ball and the path of the attacking player as he runs around the defender- what shape do you get...a Sombrero!

No one knows the needs of soccer organizations like Blue Sombrero. We were brought up playing in the US Youth Soccer system and have continued through as coaches and administrators. We’ve put this experience to work in developing a system to ease the administrative burden of managing a youth soccer organization. This is NOT a software system that was built, then retro-fit to meet the needs of soccer organizations…this was created by soccer people FOR soccer people.
