VERMONT YOUTH SOCCER FALL LEAGUE INFORMATION

The Vermont Soccer Association began a fall league for U10 and U12 boys in 2007. This year the league will expand to include both boys and girls U10 and U12. The teams are made up of town based clubs. The goal of the Fall League is to provide opportunities to play soccer in a positive environment that promotes skill development, fair play, and good sportsmanship.

Each age group will be limited to eight teams. The first eight teams in each age group to submit their forms and fees will be selected for the league. The deadline for all forms and fees is August 20, 2010. 

Game Dates: Sunday afternoons September 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17
Location: The Tree Farm Recreational Facility in Essex Junction.

League Rules: U10 (7 v 7) and U12 (8 v 8) same rules as VSL.  Currently all games are 25 minute halves.  There has been some discussion on making the U12’s 30 minute halves but that will change the fees to accommodate referees and field rentals.  We will have a team meeting once we get entries to see if we lengthen the games this year or next.

Forms: All teams need to register players and coaches with VSA using Got Soccer. USYSA and VSA’s insurance company require coaches to have a signed Medical Release Form for each player with them at all practices and games. In the event that a player needs emergency medical attention this form will be necessary to have a player treated if a parent or guardian cannot be reached. Medical Release Forms will also be available via registration in Got Soccer.

Fees: League Fee – payable to VSA: $200/team (includes field rental fees)
VSA Registration, roster & player pass fees: $20/player and $10/coach (includes background check).
Referee Fees: $105/team (each team will have three home games @$35/each, to be paid on days of home games)
Referees: Referees will be paid by the team listed as the home team prior to the start of the match. Referees are paid $35 a game. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT COACHES REMEMBER TO PAY REFEREES AT EACH GAME. TEAMS THAT “FORGET THEIR CHECKBOOK” WILL BE FINED $50 PER OCCURRENCE AND COULD FACE DISMISSAL FROM THE LEAGUE.

Player and Coach Passes: VSA will provide player and coach passes to teams. Passes will be printed by VSA and returned to the club’s registrar with approved rosters. Passes should then be signed by players, have pictures affixed on back and returned to VSA for validation. Pictures should be current and a maximum of 1”x 1”. Once processed, passes will be returned to the registrar for distribution to coaches. Please allow 5-7 days for this process.

Vermont Soccer Association and Mia Hamm
Have Teamed Up for Vermont Soccer’s 2009 Fundraiser!

Vermont Soccer Association is pleased and honored to introduce Mia Hamm to Vermont.   Mia Hamm is not only the five-time recipient of the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year award she is also an individual dedicated to raising funds and awareness for two very personal causes: research for bone marrow diseases and the encouragement and empowerment of young female athletes. Together, we hope to generate revenue and awareness for Vermont Soccer Association, Stern Center for Language and Learning, Cancer Patient Support Program, Vermont Top Soccer and the Mia Hamm Foundation.

As a player, family member, or interested spectator you, too, can participate in this fundraiser and even meet Mia Hamm!

When you raise:

• $50, you will receive a flexible wrist band engraved with Mia Hamm’s “Play Hard Play Fair” message and a congratulatory thank you letter from her.
• $150, you will receive an event-customized soccer ball.
• $250, you and a guest, will be invited to the Soccer Showcase with Mia in Vermont.  The Soccer   Showcase is scheduled for October 24, 2010 in Vermont.  Ample notice will be given.

The top:
• 100 fundraisers will be invited, with a guest, to the private “VIP Meet & Greet with Mia Hamm” that’s part of the Soccer Showcase.
• 10 fundraisers with a guest will be invited to an exclusive sit down chat with Mia Hamm that’s also part of the Soccer Showcase.

Note: All team members must register for the fundraiser and raise a minimum of $50 each for the team to be eligible.
