GLSL - Great Lakes Soccer League
General Information
Great Lakes Soccer League (GLSL) is the recreational outdoor soccer league for U9 and above boys and girls and consists of two seasons – Fall and Spring.

Fall Season starts after Labor Day weekend and goes through October. Registration for this league is January (June 1 – July 1).
Spring Season starts mid-April and goes until mid-June. Registration for this league is June (January 1 – February 1).

Note* The spring season ends on the weekend of June 14th and the make-up games can be completed through the following weekend. The GLSL program attempts to complete games within a week of the end of school.

 Games
  • Home games are played at Independence Park, Heritage Park, Freedom Park and Griffin Park.
  • GLSL teams will travel to play away games with other communities such as Westland, Ann Arbor, Garden City, etc.
  • Approx. half of your games are played at home.
  • U9 through U12 normally play mid-week and Saturdays.
  • U13 and above normally play mid-week and Sundays after 12 noon

Practices
Practices are coordinated by the coaches and are completely dependent upon their availability.  Typically coaches will practice twice a week (Mon-Thurs) at or after 5pm.

HS Teams
During the High School soccer season (Girls–Spring and Boys-Fall), U15+ teams play a 6v6 format on an 8v8 field and are allowed to use up to three guest players.  During the off-season from HS soccer, the teams go back to 11v11 format.

GLSL Uniforms
Each player receives one uniform kit (jersey, shorts and socks) each year in the fall.  If the player “continues” to the spring season, he/she will wear the same uniform which is the reason for the discounted registration price in the spring.  If your player did not play in the fall, but wishes to play in the spring – you must register as a “new” player.  “New” player fees include the uniform as well as league fees.

If your child is receiving a uniform, the club will distribute them to your coach.  Coaches will receive their team uniforms at the Spring or Fall Coaches Meeting and will pass them out during their pre-season training sessions.

If you have an issue with your uniform, you must go through your coach who will contact the League Coordinator.
