RSL Florida- What is Competitive Soccer? Competitive soccer provides a higher level of play for those that have demonstrated a desire and an ability to play over and above a recreational level. Youth players tryout for competitive soccer teams. RSL Florida typically fields Division I and Divison II teams in each age group, but the number of teams will depend upon the number of players who try-out.
If a player is selected to play on a competitive team, there will be a higher level of commitment in terms of cost and time involved with the team. Our competitive teams typically travel throughout the region for their league games and potentially travel to several week-end tournaments both local and away throughout the year. A typical practice schedule is two to three times per week with one game per week during the season ((November - March).
RSL Florida competitive teams are provided quality training and coaching throughout the season to reach the highest level of individual and team performance possible. Our DOC's oversee and step into training sessions and work closely with paid coaching staff to create development plans for all of our teams.
If you are ready for a higher level of play and want to compete against teams throughout the region or the country, then consider trying out for one of our competitive teams.
RSL Florida is a run by a volunteer Board of Directors and professional Directors of Coaching Staff. Please refer to our Coaching tab for for contact information for our DOC's. Our Volunteer Board member contact for competitive programs is Rob LaVielle who can be reached at: fssl@tampabay.rr.com
