Haverford Soccer Club announces the opening of registration for its 2010 Spring Soccer Program.
This year the season begins April 10th and runs through June 13th.
Registration Period and Costs
Spring Soccer registration period is Feb 9th to March 29th. The cost for the program this year is $70. Any registrations submitted after Mar 21st will incur a $15 late fee. Anyone withdrawing after the first weekend will incur a $10 processing charge to their refund.
Online Registration
To get to our online registration, just go to the Home page of our website where you will see a link to Spring Soccer/Developmental Academy Registration. Just click the button to access the registration website. This season we have changed providers for our online registration with an eye to having a more user-friendly process. If you want to sign up your child for both programs, do it for one first and then fill out another registration for the other. When you have finished those you can go to the part where you do the payment. No one is registered unless you have completed the payment part of the registration.
If you run into any problems, contact Jonathan Donley at vpadmin@haverfordsoccer.org or myself at kidswin@haverfordsoccer.org
We Are All Together
Our registration application supports both Windows and Mac. No one is excluded anymore!
Spring Soccer Ground Rules/Team Requests
Please do not make team or player requests. As always, spring teams are put together by the respective age group coaches to field even, competitive teams.
Please do not make team or player requests. As always, spring teams are put together by the respective age group coaches to field even, competitive teams.
(I repeated that on purpose)
The only exception being siblings. If sisters or brothers are in the same age group, they will be placed on the same team unless specifically requested otherwise.
No U13/14 Coed This Year
This year we are trying to have seperate U13 Boys and Girls age groups. If we wind up with insufficient players to have four teams in each division, we will merge them as last year.
U15/16/17 Coed
U15/16/17 Coed is for 9th thru 11th graders. The program worked well for us last year and the kids had a blast. No, the girls will not run the boys over and no the boys will not run the girls over. The games worked out pretty well last season and we expect the same this season. Where it is played it has actually raised the level of technique as players elevate their game away from the physical to the skill aspects. As always, referees will be on hand to keep an eye on things. Teams will play 6v6 plus a keeper on 70 by 50 yard field. There will be requirements on the mix of girls and boys on the field at any given time. We will announce those once we get a sense of the registration balance for the age group.
Competition Ground Rules
U8 to U15/16/17 play will be in leagues with competitive games but no standings or championships. The program is open to both travel and intramural players. Teams are assigned with the intention of having competitive teams. Individual teams are limited to three practices but there will be age group training available.
U8 to U11/12 play 5v5 plus a Keeper (that is 6v6 for the math geniuses like me who always have to count fingers to know what 5v5 plus a Keeper means) on a 60 by 40 yard field.
U13/14 and U15/16/17 Coed play 6v6 plus a Keeper on a 70 by 50 yard field.
Playing Up
Any younger players that want to play in the same age group as their classmates in school, will need to make a special request. We will generally move them up unless there is a serious difference in age.
Travel Players
All Travel players can play in their appropriate age group this season. Travel A players may only play half the game. All Travel players will be spread out evenly across all the teams in the age group, as the object is to create as competitive division as possible.
2010 Spring Programs

Under-7 Girls
