Registration Tips
Don't be caught unawaresJust because your child is in the Shopping Cart, they aren't registered yet.  Be sure to keep hitting next until you have finished the page where it asks for your Credit Card info.

We have a number of folks who stop once they have selected a program for their child.  Those kids are just in the Shopping Cart - so not registered yet.  They will not be assigned to teams until you have reached and completed the last step where you make the payment.

There is no program available or the only choice for my daughter/son is in the wrong age group.  Spring Soccer age groups are the same age groups the kids were in last Fall's Intramural program.  If they did not play IM but Travel, then it may be a different age group.

Our IM program, Winter Futsal and Spring Soccer are based on your child's current grade in school.  For some of you we had to manually place the kids into the correct age group as like Travel the registration system does its calculations according to your child's age.  So some of you will click on Register Now and it will say there is no program available or only offer an incorrect age group.  When this happens, email Pete Schechner and he will manually place your child in the desired age group.  He will do this and notify you that it is done whereupon you can go into the Shopping Cart and finish the registration from there.

I want my child to play up.  All Travel A players or players that participated in the Developmental Academy have the option of playing up a year this Spring.  If you want to have your child do that, email Pete Schechner and he will manually place your child in the desired age group.  He will do this and notify you that it is done whereupon you can go into the Shopping Cart and finish the registration from there

I want my child to play down.  Occassionally some kids need to play down for various reasons.  If you want to have your child do that, email Pete Schechner.  If he deems it neccessary based on your input, he will manually place your child in the desired age group.  He will do this and notify you that it is done whereupon you can go into the Shopping Cart and finish the registration from there

Thanks,
Pete Schechner

Spring Program Description

Haverford Soccer Club announces the opening of registration for its 2009 Spring Soccer Program.

This year the season begins April 18th and runs through June 14th. This season we have combined U13/14 Boys and Girls for 7th and 8th graders int U13/14 Coed.

Registration Period and Costs

Spring Soccer registration period is Feb 1st to March 29th. The cost for the program this year is $60. Any registrations submitted after Mar 22nd will incur a $15 late fee.  Anyone withdrawing after the first weekend will incur a $10 processing charge to their refund.

Online Registration

To get to our online registration, just go to the Intramural page of our website and click on the link to Register Online.  There are instructions on the first page on what you need to do. After you have looked them over, just click on Register in the upper left corner of page and get started.  If you run into any problems, contact Jonathan Donley at vpadmin@haverfordsoccer.org If there is a system type of error contact the provider by clicking on the Blue Sombrero Email Support link to get in touch with them. The support link allows you to send them a message so be sure to tell them where best to reach you.

We Are All Together

Our registration application supports both Windows and Mac. No one is excluded anymore!

Spring Soccer Ground Rules/Team Requests

Please do not make team or player requests. As always, spring teams are put together by the respective age group coaches to field even, competitive teams.

Please do not make team or player requests. As always, spring teams are put together by the respective age group coaches to field even, competitive teams.

(I repeated that on purpose)

The only exception being siblings.  If sisters or brothers are in the same age group, they will be placed on the same team unless specifically requested otherwise.

U13/14 Coed and 15/16/17 Coed

This year we are announcing the addition of a U13/14 Coed along with our expanded U15/16/17 Coed age group. The U13/14 Coed is for 7th and 8th graders, while the U15/16/17 Coed is for 9th thru 11th graders. The program worked well for us last year and the kids had a blast. No, the girls will not run the boys over and no the boys will not run the girls over. The games worked out pretty well last season and we expect the same for the new age group. Where it is played it has actually raised the level of technique as players elevate their game away from the physical to the skill aspects. As always, referees will be on hand to keep an eye on things. Teams will play 6v6 plus a keeper on 70 by 50 yard field. There will be requirements on the mix of girls and boys on the field at any given time. We will announce those once we get a sense of the registration balance for the age group.

Competition Ground Rules

U8 to U15/16/17 play will be in leagues with competitive games but no standings or championships. The program is open to both travel and intramural players. Teams are assigned with the intention of having competitive teams. Individual teams are limited to three practices but there will be age group training available.

U8 to U11/12 play 5v5 plus a Keeper (that is 6v6 for the math geniuses like me who always have to count fingers to know what 5v5 plus a Keeper means) on a 60 by 40 yard field.
U13/14 and U15/16/17 Coed play 6v6 plus a Keeper on a 70 by 50 yard field.

Playing Up

Any younger players that want to play in the same age group as their classmates in school, will need to make a special request. We will generally move them up unless there is a serious difference in age.

Travel Players

All Travel players can play in their appropriate age group this season.  Travel A players may only play half the game.  All Travel players will be spread out evenly across all the teams in the age group, as the object is to create as competitive division as possible.

2008 Spring Programs

Under-7 Girls

A developmental program with 12 players to a team, 1 hour and ten minute sessions are 30 minutes of skill development followed by 30 minutes of play. All players, except siblings, are randomly assigned.
