U7/U8 Age Groups
Summary of the Loudoun Soccer U7/U8 Recreational Program
Loudoun Soccer uses a small-sided game format for U7 and U8 that is designed to promote individual player skill development.
Loudoun Soccer U7 and U8 teams play on micro fields (30 x 40 yards), and instead of throw-ins, players do kick-ins. There is also no enforcement of the off-sides rule for U7/U8 games. Player substitutions may only be made at quarter breaks (no free substitution) unless there is an injury and a player has to come off. Coaches must remain on the sideline during games and are not allowed to be on the field to provide player guidance at all.
