In 2002, Pete Santora and Erik Stadler created a soccer company around
the mission of inspiring passion for the game of soccer. After growing
up playing youth, college and professional soccer, the two friends
wanted to stay with the game they loved and share their experience.
After a year of operation, Nacional Soccer, LLC started to experience
significant growth that was accompanied by piles of paper. Their summer
camps, coaching courses and training clinics had created a mountain of
headaches. Quickbooks became a daily nightmare data inputting line item
registration after line item registration and the need for a corporate
website became a constant battle with the web developer to keep the
content “fresh.”
Enter Blue Sombrero in the summer of 2003.
Started as Nacional Sports Technologies and changed to Blue Sombrero
after the move that Ronaldinho made famous (click here to view),
Pete and Erik began working with a team of developers to alleviate the
stresses associated with registration, accounting and communication.
Their limited technology background allowed them to focus on the
administrator’s interaction with the service and led Blue Sombrero to
become the leader in administrator driven services.
