Welcome to the 2010 Boys College Showcase Home Page!

Welcome to the 2010 SLSG Boys College Showcase, formally known as the Metro United Boys Showcase! The 13th Annual event will be more competitive than ever as the Showcase continues to grow in reputation and popularity. 2010 SLSG Boys College Showcase attracts the premier Region II clubs along with some welcomed variety from outside the region.

This year’s event will be held later than usual – April 10-11 - in the Southern Illinois communities of Collinsville, Belleville & O’Fallon. For the past 12 years, some of the best U15 – U19 Boys teams have visited our beautiful complexes for the Showcase. Traditionally, the Showcase attracts Region II powers Chicago Magic, Sockers FC, St. Louis Scott Gallagher, Wolves, Vardar, FC Milwaukee, Yahara, CUP, KCFC, Javanon to name a few. From outside the region we have entertained Alto Loma Arsenal, NOSA, Hurricanes SC, …who make this a remarkable event.

All brackets play 3 games. We will crown the Champion of each group based on the 1st Place placement game but no trophy is awarded. All games are full-length, the U15/U16 age groups play 2 x 40 and the U17-U19 boys play 2 x 45. We are working on finalizing the sites for 2010.  We will use the Family SportsPlex in Belleville along with potential use of the O’Fallon City Sports Park and Southwestern Illinois College in Granite City.

College coaches of all divisions and various parts of the country attend the event. We have had representatives from Big 10, PAC 10, Missouri Valley, ACC, Ivy League, Great Lakes, etc. Yearly we host St. Louis University, Drake University, Indiana, Michigan, SIUE, Bradley, Kentucky, University of Evansville, Notre Dame, Centre College, Washington University, Oakland University,  At last year’s Showcase, the Metro United Complex was literally bursting at the seams as 118 men’s colleges were represented. We provide them with profiles of all players, food and drink while at the fields.

We will also be hosting four USSF Academy Games that weekend between St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri, St. Louis Scott Gallagher Metro, Columbus Crew and Internationals.
