LAST YEAR WE HAD OVER 30 COLLEGE COACHES IN ATTENDANCE

Team rosters may carry a maximum of eighteen (18) players, twenty-two (22) for U16-U19,fourteen (14) players for U9, U10 (6v6) and U11, U12 (8v8) including a maximum of five guest players. The Tournament Director reserves the right - based upon the applications received any age division may be cancelled or combined with the next older group if brackets are not realized.

Competition
The tournament will follow USYSA rules regarding travel, officials and play. A copy of the rules will accompany the acceptance package. The U9, U10 will play 6v6 and U11, U12 will play 8v8 and these games will have three (3) referees. Teams will play a minimum of three (3) games.

Team trophies will be awarded to division winners. Individual trophies will be presented to champion and second place winners. The exchanging of patches/pins is encouraged. T-shirts will be available through pre-order forms that will be mailed with your team acceptance package. A sample design will be included. A limited supply of t-shirts will be available at some game sites.

Guest Players
Teams are allowed five (5) guest players. Guest players will not be listed on your certified roster, you should write in the names of guest players on the copy of the roster you provide to us. Recreational or travel players who wish to guest play with a travel team are permitted to play as long as you list them on your roster and they must have their approved player passes and medical release forms. All guest players MUST provide their player passes and official medical release forms to the team for which they will be playing.

Registration
Teams accepted will provide at, or prior to registration: Permission to Travel Forms (if team is from state other than Virginia), Approved State Roster, individual official Medical Release Forms, and USYSA Player Passes with picture permanently attached. Photos are required on Recreational Player Passes from states other than Virginia. Photos are required on ALL Travel Player Passes.

Tournament registration will be conducted on Friday, November 6th.  Teams must present valid USYSA Player Passes, Certified State Roster, Official Medical Release Forms, and Permission to Travel Forms (for all non-VA) teams at registration.

Here you can obtain information, not only on all aspects of the upcoming tournament, but also on all of the other tournaments that Roanoke Star hosts. After the deadline, status of applications, game schedules, and tournament results will be available online. The RVYSC website can be found at www.roanokestar.com

Fees & Deadline
The tournament participation fee is $575 for U13-U19 (11v11), $475 for U11-U12 (8v8) and $350 for U9, U10 (6v6). Faxed or email applications will not be processed. Fees and a copy of your roster must accompany the application. Please make your checks payable to RVYSC.  The tournament fee is NON REFUNDABLE after the tournament application deadline. If your team withdraws from the tournament before the October 10th, 2009 deadline a $25 processing fee will be subtracted from your application fee before it is refunded. RVYSC will deposit all entry checks, this does not guarantee acceptance. Refunds will not be given for games canceled or revised due to inclement weather. Requesting late games may determine whether or not you are accepted.

A completed tournament application (attached), a copy of your certified official roster and the tournament entry fee must be received by October 10th, 2009. Notification of the status of your application will be emailed . Applications are not processed until after the deadline. We are therefore, unable to advise you which teams have already applied to the tournament. Please do not call the office regarding acceptance into the tournament.

Registration:  Registration will be at the Soccer Stop, 536 McClanahan Street, Roanoke, VA 24014 (540-344-9336), from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, November 6th, 2009. 
From I-81 take Rt. 220/581 South. Go about 5 miles, and take the Wonju Street to Franklin Road exit. At the bottom of the hill, make a left onto Franklin Road. Soccer Stop is on the right before the bridge at the corner of Franklin Road and McClanahan Street.

 For Registration you will need the following items:
a. Valid USYS or other association 2009/2010 Official Roster plus one copy.
b. Valid USYS or other association 2009/2010 Association player cards and coaches cards.  Only coaches with approved coaches cards are allowed on the team side of the field.
c. Valid Medical Release Forms (may be same form as used for your league - no special tournament form) - Forms do not have to be notarized. 
d. Permission to travel form for those teams outside Region 1 with the exception of CT and NJ whose State associations still require the form (see definitions of Region 1 below).  US Club Soccer teams do not require permission to travel but must be in good standing with their association.

e. Two cell phone numbers to be provided at Registration in the event contact is needed during the event.
f. Guest players are allowed up to five.  They require the same documentation as other players.  Also, guest players should be written on the copy of your roster to be provided at Registration.
