Ann Arbor Arsenal: A Commitment to Excellence

Congratulations on your selection to Ann Arbor Arsenal. You are joining one of the largest, most successful, and most innovative clubs in the state of Michigan. The Coaching Directors and team coaches in our program promise to commit a great deal of time and effort in the development of your child, not only on the soccer field, but as a young person as well. It is our sincere hope that when you look back upon your child’s development, you will look upon the Arsenal program as one of the greatest influences in his or her life, as we constantly strive to teach honesty, loyalty, sportsmanship, and excellence on and off the field.

This is our commitment to you, the Arsenal player and parent. Yet, in order to fulfill these lofty objectives, we need a similar commitment from you to make this work.

Injured Players:

All injured players are expected to attend every training session and game. The only exceptions are travel to away tournaments, and training sessions that may conflict with physical therapy or doctor visits pertaining to the injury, and these MUST be cleared with the COACH prior to the conflict. Every session is an opportunity to learn and thus they are all required!

Tardiness:

All players are expected to arrive early or on time for practice, and at least 45 minutes prior to a match (or as per coach’s instructions). This means that a player must be dressed and ready to go at the appropriate time, not strolling in from the parking lot!

Age Group Expectations:

Depending upon a player’s age and level of play, we expect the following commitment form him/her with regards to attendance at team functions:

Philosophy: As one of the most innovative clubs in Michigan the Arsenal has an established philosophy when it comes to our most competitive teams. Arsenal’s curriculum and player development philosophy is second to none in the state of Michigan. At the age of U13 Arsenal begins to teach players to win the game as results become very important on a state, regional and national level. With that said the aim is to continue to develop each and every player but the primary concern is the development of the ‘team’. During the U13 age group players will most likely play the same positions on a consistent basis and the coach will begin implementing functional and tactical training into the curriculum.
