Professional Coach Training for Rec Coaches is real!

As discussed during the Coach meetings the week following Labor Day, the Arizona Youth Soccer Association, Director Of Coaching, Tony Colavecchia has been scheduled to offer Youth Module I and Youth Module II license training for all of our Recreational Coaches.  There is no charge for this training and it's being held soon; now; right away!  Please attend the session appropriate for the age of the team you are coaching.  If you cannot attend that age-appropriate session, please attend any of the sessions as the information and "networking" will be useful, just not "as useful" as your age-appropriate session.  Please make every effort to addend.  We know the Friday night / Sunday time is valuable to all, but this coach training is a once per season offering.  And we even chose the Sunday when the Cardinals have their bye week!  Here are the dates and times.  There will be "field sessions" so bring athletic shoes and a ball.  If you have any questions, please contact your division coordinator.  Thanks, and see you at the training session!

Location:  Chaparral Park office, 5401 N. Hayden Road (Hayden at Jackrabbit, office is near the pool)

Sessions:  Player teams ages 4 through 6:  Friday, Oct 2, 6-8pm
Player teams ages 7 through 9:  Sunday, Oct 4, noon to 2:30pm
Player teams ages 10-11 and older:  Sunday, Oct 4, 3-6pm

Scottsdale Soccer Recreational Program Volunteer Coaching
Volunteer coaches indicate their interest in coaching during their player's registration -- look for the Volunteer question.  If you become interested in coaching a team after your player registers, please send Email to recsoccer@scottsdalesoccer.com

We collect all coach names and form teams based on the coaches who have volunteered.  Coaches cannot request players but players, during registration, can request a coach.  Nearly all volunteer coaches are selected to coach a team as we never seem to have enough volunteers.  Coaches are contacted during August, are asked to complete a Disclosure Form and a Practice Field Request form, and both are to be brought to the coach orientation meeting which is held in early September.  Team rosters are handed out during that meeting.  Coaches contact their players in the second week of September and begin practice at that time.  Games usually begin the last Saturday in September.

Other Information
Team picture days are scheduled for all recreational teams at Mountain View Park, usually on a Sunday in October or November.  The recreational soccer season concludes in late November for 4 and 5 year old players and in December for all other players.  Each player receives an award for participation.

League rules / modified for age specific use
