Hello,
Over the past several weeks, my daughters team (U10 G) has had several meetings with the Bethlehem team. I have always come away very impressed with the sportsmanship of these teams. The girls seem to be having a great time, while competing hard. This is obviously something to be proud of. The incident which prompted me to write occurred at the recent tournament at Niskayuna.
My daughter competed in the goalie competition (part of the shoot out). The opposing goalie was from Bethlehem (I didn't get the name). Before the competition, the Bethlehem girl sought my daughter out to wish her well. After the competition, after the obligatory handshake, she then sought my daughter out again and asked if they could pose for a picture together, with each of them holding the trophie. Again, she mentioned how well my daughter did. When we parted ways, my daughter and I couldn't have been happier if she had won.
I believe that this reflects very well on the Bethlehem team, coaches and parents of the organization.
Best of luck through the rest of the season and beyond.
Sincerely,
Chuck (and Lauren) Paravella ...
