Practices on grass fields are cancelled this evening. Turf field practices can still be held but the threat of severe weather does exist tonight so we would suggest that parents stay close to the fields in the event we have to evacuate the fields quickly.

If the temperature is above 90 degrees, frequent water breaks should be taken. Coaches and parents should watch for signs of heat exhaustion or dehydration.
In case of thunder and lightning, all practices and games will be cancelled or suspended. If you see lightning or hear thunder, stop what you are doing and seek immediate shelter. Play can resume after waiting 15 minutes after the last occurrence.
Parents have the primary responsibility for keeping their children safe. Please be aware of weather conditions during practices and games, and be prepared to pick your child up early, or keep them home if warranted.
During hot weather:
Take plenty of water and sports drinks to activity and be sure drink them.
Take a small cooler filled with ice water and towels to drape around your head and neck during breaks in activity.
Stay in shaded areas as often as possible.
Report feelings of dizziness or nausea to an adult -- immediately!
Remember that SOCCER IS A GAME!
Health and safety of players should be our number one concern.

Winter Indoor Practice Cancellation Policy
If the BV school district cancels evening activities ALL practices are off. The school district weather line is: 913-239-4600 and you can call it to check on their status at anytime. We won't be putting anything on our website or weather line as a rule – so please use this as your guide. The practices held at churches or other facilities will follow the same policy. If you hold practices at a school You DO NOT need to contact the school to let them know you won't be there.
If the BV School District has not cancelled evening activities, and you practice at a school facility, and you don't plan to hold practice for some reason, please call me on my cell phone and let me know BEFORE 4pm and I will notify the district offices of your cancelled practice. This is per their request to only receive one notification from us if this situation occurs. My cell phone number is 913-484-3988. This doesn't necessarily apply to the churches, although I'm sure they would appreciate a notification if you don't plan to practice during your time slot.
If the school district does not cancel evening activities yet the weather or roads are questionable it becomes coaches decision. The churches have told us they will be open typically no matter what and if they are not open they usually list this on the tv stations rolling cancellation list.
Winter Outdoor Practice Cancellation Policy
If the BV school district cancels evening activities ALL practices are off.
If the temperature is 30 degrees or higher and the wind chill is above 25 practices will be held. If the temperature is 29 degrees or below or the wind chill is 25 degrees or below practices will be cancelled.
We will attempt to place information on the weather line 913-599-9998 as we are able to do so.
If a Club sponsored activity is cancelled for any weather related reasons, we will post this on the Club weather line and website as soon as we are aware of it. Parents are responsible for checking for weather updates prior to a Club sponsored event.
