 2008 fall rec Academy Program

Format: The CCSA Academy is designed for players and families with aspirations for more than recreational play.  This program is designed to help our youngest players become passionate about the game and develop the necessary skills to become a competitive player.  The emphasis is placed on player development and is not oriented towards team play.  The focus is on individual players developing at their own pace in an environment that is fun, engaging, and focused.

The Academy players will be placed into training groups of 10-12 players for each session.  The training groups will be changed regularly.  Players will be trained by professional coaches with the assistance of volunteer parent-coaches.

Each Saturday, the Academy will play pool games.  Teams for these games will be randomly assorted each week and Game Day Coordinators will be asked to watch the game and facilitate substitutions.  The idea is to have fun and play.

The Academy Program is for the serious soccer family.

Coaches: The Academy will use professional coaches to run training sessions with the assistance of parent volunteer coaches.  The professional coaches will be dedicated to fun and the development of young players.

Game Day and Practice Day Coordinators will be needed to help assist with training and games.  Parent volunteers and professional coaches will be asked to adhere to a strict code of ethics specifically designed to reflect the values of the CCSA Academy program.

Parents: The Academy cannot work without your support.  You want more for your child and this is why you are considering the Academy Program.  The CCSA wants to offer more for your child as well.  Our Academy Program is designed to help your child be the best that they can be.  Some children will progress quicker than others just like in reading, writing, or arithmetic.  The CCSA offers a variety of options for your child, so if you choose this program, support it.  If the Academy Director deems your behavior as harmful to our Academy players, your child will be removed from the program.  Don’t be the reason why your child misses a season of soccer.

The Academy promises to provide a series of educational opportunities for you to learn about why the Academy is set-up the way it is.  This series of educational opportunities is optional but strongly encouraged to help us become a better and more intelligent soccer family.

Basic tenet of the Academy:  YOU want more for your child, so does the CCSA.  We are in this together. The CCSA will fulfill our soccer part and we expect that you will fulfill your parent part.
