FC United Super Y U17 Boys head to nationals - Thursday, December 27, 2012
FC United Super Y U17 Boys head to nationals
Lose 1-0 in semi-final.

FC United wants to congratulate the team on its well-deserved qualification for the 2012 Super Y League North American Finals.  We are proud of your hard work over the summer and are honored to have you represent us at this p
restigious event.
Our u17 boys team finished first this summer in Group A of the Southeast division. Division winners are invited to the Super Y Nationals. The USL Super Y-League Championships is the premier event of the summer for the Super Y-League.  After competing during the regular season from April to August, the boy’s and girl’s divisional winners convened at IMG Academy to battle for the championship.  This elite event takes place in the beginning of December each year and offers the best competition from all over North America.
After going undefeated in group play (1 win and 2 draws), our boys moved onto the semi-finals. In group play we faced some pretty powerful teams from Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  The semi-final was a great match that could have went either way, but Ironbound SC, in their 5th consecutive trip to the Super Y Nationals, prevailed on a lucky bounce, and advanced to the final on a 1-0 nail-biter

College coaches and even pro scouts lined the sidelines at each game. Our style of play, grit, work rate and skill turned many heads and FC United is now ON THE MAP! Not bad for only our 2nd year of Super Y!!

It was a great experience for players, coaches and parents and we look forward to sending more FC United Super Y teams to the playoffs next year.

Here is a pic of the boys posing with US soccer legend, Mia Hamm.

* And congrats to Marty Maschio, one of our FC United club players (95-96 Boys), for making the U17 All Tournament Team

FC United Winter Training - Tuesday, November 20, 2012
FC United Winter 2012 Training

Dates: December 1st, December 15th, December 22nd, December 29th, and January 5th

Winter Training is designed to continue to develop players over the winter month of December, while still giving players a break without losing all the development & skill from the fall. Training will be fun, innovative, & technically based. Players will also compete and apply skills within small‐sided games where players will learn decision making in an environment where they can be brave and applying new skills. As a staff, we saw significant benefits in the players that were involved last winter, it was great for players to continued to learn & develop in December and be set‐up for success going into the spring.

FC United becomes a member club of West Ham United International Academy - Monday, September 17, 2012
FC United of Florida officially became a West Ham United Academy Partner Club. "FC United has come a long way in its short history. Formed in 2009 by merging two small local clubs in north central Florida, it did not take long to go from 'unknown' to 'well-known'. Attracting coaches that share the same mission and vision was not easy, but a slow and steady process." Reg Monsanto, FC United President said, "The partnership with West Ham United and GIS is a direct result of the hard work we have put in to get us this far."  Click here to see a list of all of WHUIA’s Partner Clubs.
