HSC Juggling Club
Welcome to the Haverford SC Juggling Page
(click here to see the list of players)

All of our players should be able to juggle or should be having fun working on it. Once they can get the hang of it, they will want to juggle whenever a ball is within reach (so maybe you shouldn't keep a ball in your room with nice lamps!). Why should players juggle? It simply improves all of these things.....Ball control, dexterity, balance, concentration, quickness, anticipation, strength, and confidence. This translates to the game with improved first touch, passing, shooting, volleying, and defending. Improved juggling = improved player.

The purpose of the HSC Juggling Club is to recognize and celebrate the juggling achievements of our players. Rules and goals are down below. But first, if you are just starting, here are some basic instructions....

Start by kicking the ball into your hands, dropping the ball down to your feet and kicking the ball back up to your hands. Then do two juggles with your feet before sending it back up to the hands. Then do three and four. Then try alternating from your right foot to your left. As you go along, it will become easier and easier and you'll gain control of the ball and make the ball do what you want it to do. Again, work on alternating from right to left - maybe twice with the right and then once with the left or four with the left and then two with the right.

The main goal is to be able to juggle back and forth from your right foot to your left. Then kick the ball higher into the air while you’re juggling, and then lower and then higher. Have fun with the ball as you grow accustomed to using all the different surfaces of your feet as well as other parts of your body to control the ball. Incorporate more parts as you improve (e.g. foot to head to thigh, back to foot to head again). Here is link to a page with more detailed instruction, and some cool videos....
