About Steve.... Steve Roper is a founder and the President of UK Elite Soccer, Inc. Since its establishment, in 1992,UK Elite Soccer has now expanded to the point where annually they coach twenty thousand children in the summer, and over eighty thousand players during the year in 15 States.
Steve joined the Royal Air Force from school in 1980 as a Physical Training Instructor and played soccer for the national team for 4 years. He then went to Loughborough University in 1984 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physical Education and Sports Science. He also received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Physical Education and Mathematics) in 1988. During his time there he captained the team to the British Universities title on 2 occasions and played for British Universities in Zagreb, 1987 at the World University Games.  
After moving to the United States he obtained his Masters of Education in Sports Management at East Stroudsburg University, PA in 1991. He has also coached a variety of teams of all ages and abilities including the New Jersey 1984 ODP Boys to the Regional Title in 1998, West Windsor Cyclones, NJ – (Boys), Jefferson, NJ and Mount Olive, NJ - High School (Girls), and Nether Providence Stallions, PA (Boys).  He also earned a USSF ‘A’ License in 1994, an NSCAA Premier Diploma in 2000 and has been the State Technical Director of Delaware for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America since 2000.
A local resident he currently lives in Ardmore with his wife Clare, 4 year old son Matthew, and they are expecting twins this summer.

Coaching Education - Monday, May 23, 2011
HSC will be hosting two coaching education opportunities from the NSCAA.... 

Junior Level V 

Friday June 3, 6pm-10pm and Saturday June 4, 9am-6pm

                The Junior Level V Diploma is a 13 hour course designed for coaches working with 11-18 year old players. Emphasis is placed on working with players on both individual and team perspectives. The curriculum outlines how technical and tactical concepts can be applied in the development of teams and player.

Goalkeeper Level 1

Sunday June 5, 11am-5pm

                The overall objective of the Goalkeeping Level I Diploma is to explore some of the myths and mystiques surrounding the goalkeeping function.  The six-hour course is directed towards the team coach - not the specialist goalkeeper coach.  The object is to empower the coach with knowledge and practice methods that will enable the coach to evaluate a goalkeeper in game situations and then design an appropriate practice program for goalkeepers in and outside of team practices.  The course includes lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions.
