How to reserve a Practice Field (Updated June 16, 2011)

SUMMER 2011 - TRAVEL PRACTICE SCHEDULE

We are trialing the use of Google Calendar to track the practice schedule for travel soccer this summer.  Permits start the week of June 20.  Township field permits (Reserve, Polo, Preston) run through the end of July and School District Fields (Coopertown, Lynnewood, Manoa, Chatham) run through August 12.

To view the current practice schedule, click on the following link  https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=cl&passive=1209600&continue=http://www.google.com/calendar/render?hl%3Den%26tab%3Dwc&followup=http://www.google.com/calendar/render?hl%3Den%26tab%3Dwc&hl=en

and use the following username and password.

Username:  scheduling@haverfordsoccer.org

Password:  HSCscheduling2  (updated 12/31/11)

Once you have logged in, you can choose individual fields on the left and browse the calendar by day, week, or month to see where fields have been assigned and what remains open.

Due to many teams with interest in practicing multiple times per week, there are many instances where teams have to share fields.

For practice requests or questions, please contact our Schedule Coordinator, Mike Posencheg at scheduling@haverfordsoccer.org

  3. Stick it in your practice bag with the balls and stuff. YOU MUST HAVE A COPY OF THE PERMIT WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.

PROPER FIELD/GYM USE TO AVOID LOSING YOUR PRIVILEGES

For Fields

  1. Reserve Practice time (see steps above)
  2. DO NOT PRACTICE IN THE GOAL MOUTHS, Move the goals so the goal is positioned in front of the penalty area.
  3. If you are the last session for the day or the last game, please MOVE THE GOALS OFF OF THE FIELD WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
In the case of the Reserve Turf Field, place the goals next to the fence that separates the freedom playground from the turf field.
  4. All goals must have either sand or topsoil bags on them at all times. If a bag is not on the goal, and there are none nearby, please ask a parent to go get a couple.  The club has an account at dmi hardware on haverford road (near the car wash).  Simply tell them to put it on the "Joe Dirt" account.  UNWEIGHTED GOALS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS...THE CHILD WILL NOT SEE THE TIPPING GOAL COMING!  IT HAPPENS IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE AND CAN BE FATAL.
  5. (Sandbags must be put between the netting and the metal goal frame.  If there is no frame on the back of the goal, then the bag goes on the side supports along the ground. If the condition of the sand bags is poor,  or there are none around, send a letter to fields@haverfordsoccer.org
  6. Absolutely NO DOGS are allowed on any of the fields as per township ordinances stated below. For more info, visit http://www.ecode360.com/?custID=HA0527     Chapter 126, article 2, section 126-12 item i.  Polo fields is an exception where leashed animals are permitted on the perimeter (chapter 126, article 1, section 126-3, item g) .

For gyms and/or classrooms:

  1. No colored sports drinks in the gymnasiums
  2. No outdoor footwear in the gyms...this includes boots as well as cleats and turf shoes. Non-marking gym shoes only.
  3. No Dogs..don't laugh..I have seen it.
  4. ABSOLUTELY no ball playing in the hallways. Most of the schools have artwork and announcements on the walls and we do not want to damage those or the lights that hang above...they hurt when they land on your head...again, don't laugh...I have seen it.

Please Remember that we are guests at all of the gyms and custodians of the fields.

ANY VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE WILL RESULT IN A LOSS OF FIELD/GYM PRIVILEGES FOR 1 WEEK...NO WARNINGS!

We are the custodians of the fields and guests in the gyms, Thank You,
HSC Board of Directors
