Steve Brown's Training Session

The HSC and Steve Brown are hosting a 90 minute soccer training session to Boys and Girls in MIddle School and High School.  The session will be held at the YSC Sports on Main Street in Manyunk (http://www.yscsports.com/) on Sunday September 5th at 1pm. The proceeds will go to benefit Lymphoma research.

Steve has invited Ethan Zohn to run the training session.

In 2002 Ethan co-founded Grassroot Soccer www.grassrootsoccer.org through which he trains professional soccer players to teach African children through a tailor-made curriculum about HIV/AIDS prevention.  Ethan was a professional soccer player who has played with the Highlanders FC (Zimbabwe),  Cape Cod Crusaders (Massachusetts), Hawaii Tsunami (Hawaii) and the 1997 and 2001 U.S. Maccabia squads.

Steve Brown grew up here in Havertown and attended Cabrini College.  Steve spoke at our 2007 Banquet and is a survivor of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.  Steve spends countless hours raising money for blood cancer research and is running for LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) Man of the Year this year.  Since Steve is one of our hometown heroes, the HSC is supporting his fundraising efforts.

Together, these two cancer warriors have decided to raise funds by hosting a 90 minute training session here in Havertown.  Both Steve and Ethan are volunteering their time.  Steve is local and Ethan will be driving down from New York for 1 90 minute session. The donations can be made in $30, $40 or $50  amounts.  Whichever amount you choose, THE HSC WILL MATCH YOUR DONATION DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR.  All funds raised go to cancer research in Steve's Name.

What is the catch?  We only have room for 25 players so you need to sign up now, only the first 25 players will be selected.  Any donations collected after the first 25 will be added to Steve's fundraising account.

   Please click this
link to make your donation and have a chance at being one of the first 25 entrants.  All other donations made after the first 25 will still go to Lymphoma research.

Good Luck!

The HSC.
