| Summer 2011 Recap The team kicked of the summer at the Hopewell Valley Memorial Day tournament in New Jersey. Playing in the premier flight, the team went 1-2-1, and it was a case of so close yet so far, as they had a tight 1-0 loss to champion Roxbury, and 2-2 tie against finalist Edison.
In June and July, the team played in a series of MAPS (Mid Atlantic Premier Soccer) tournaments which pitted them againt some of the best teams from NJ, NY, and PA. They took home champion medals in the Rider Cup in June at Ft. Dix, going an impressive 4-0-0. Next was the Pocono Cup in mid-July, where the team finished 3rd, going 2-2-1, including a victory over eventual champion Sky Blue (NJ). They wrapped up July back at Ft Dix for the MAPS CAPS Classic, with games against 3 of top 10 team in NJ (Copa, Beechwood, and Monroe). They had 2 ties and 1 loss (including a tie against Copa, #3 in NJ). The 2 ties were good enough to earn them a PK shootout against Copa to see which team would advance, but unfortanately the Copa got the bettter of PK shootout.
The team was scheduled to play at the Spirit United Kickoff Classic, but that was cancelled by Hurricane Irene. :< (

| Spring 2011 Recap Even with a few weeks remaining in the Indoor season at YSC, the team has already had two outdoor tournaments. The Hurricane finished 3rd in the FC Europa Cup in early March, going 2-1-1, giving up just 3 goals in 4 games. The following weekend the team won the Championship in the SASA St Patrick's tournament in Virginia. The team went 4-0 and scored 12 goals, while giving up just 6 to some very good teams from Virginia and Maryland.
The team advanced to the "final 8" in State Cup competition by winning three games, including an impressive 2-0 win on our home turf under the lights against a very strong CPYSA team. The end of the run came on a cold wet morning in Lehigh Valley vs the LVU Storm as our team lost 4-0, giving up two goals late in the game in a last ditch effort to score a couple.
Looking ahead, the girls are playing in PAGS spring league. Most of the team will be playing on our summer tournament team, as the girls get to hear a new voice, as Steve Roper (USSF A Licence Coach) will become head coach for 6 weeks.
The Hurricane expect to play in Division 3 of PAGS this fall.

| Fall 2010 Recap The Hurricane had a terrific fall season, including wining the PAGS D4 Championship, taking 3rd place in the A division of the Western Lehigh Columbus Tournament and 3rd place in the Premier3 division at Hempfield.
The PAGS season got off to a rocky start, with a tie at York, a 3-2 heatbreaking loss to PA Classics (who went 8-0 in regular season), and a 2-1 loss at Huntington Valley. The Columbus tournament didn't start of any better, with a 2-0 loss to the Ukie Kixx. The team was moving the ball well, but was passing up shots, seemingly waiting for the perfect opportunity. A team meeting helped the players to understand that when we work hard to earn a shot within range, it needs to be taken. Credit the players for understanding that, because from there, they scored 11 goals in the next 3 games in the tournament (and posted 3 shut outs), ran the table in PAGS, going unbeaten for 7 more games on the way to the PAGS championship.
The championship game, which was played under the lights on a chilly Sunday night at USTC Stadium, pitteed the Hurricane against our friendly rival, the Nether Hotshots. It was 1-1 after regulation and two scoreless overtimes and had to be settled by PKs and the Hurricane edged Nether to take the Championship.
The unbeaten streak continued into the Hempfield tournament where the team had two victories and a tie against solid competition in the Premier 3 Division.
In all, the unbeaten steak remained in tact for the rest of the outdoor season. In 13 games (11-0-2), the team scored 28 goals, let in just 8, and posted 7 shut outs.
Embarking on winter, the team is competing in the YSC indoor league and is off to a good start. The team also split into two teams to compete in the PAGS Indoor tournament on New Years Eve, and one of our teams won the Championship, defeating BUSC 3-0 in the final game.
Starting in January, the team will have professional training on Friday nights for 10 weeks, The team will compete in Leagues United Indoor Cup and the EPYSA State Indoor Cup in Wilkes Barre.
The team will head back out side in March, competing in the FC Europa Cup and then take a trip to Virginia for SASA St. Patricks Day Tournament. All of this lead up to the EPYSA State Cup Competition in April and the PAGS spring league.
Then its tryout time and we'll start it all over again!

| Winter-Spring-Summer 2010 Recap The team had a busy winter, training at USTC Academy and playing in leagues at FarPost and Episcopal Academy. We entered two team into the Indoor Cup Warmup Tournament, one of which won the championship in their bracket! A few weeks later, the Hurricane made a good run in Indoor State Cup, posting two wins and a tie, barely missing the chance to advance.
The team moved back outdoors and played three competitive games in the Outdoor State Cup, with a 2-0 loss to Deep Run, a 0-0 tie with Nether, and a 2-1 loss to Wyoming Valley.
Then on to the PAGS Spring League, which was very productive as players had a chance try various positions. The team went 3-2-2.
As spring became summer, the team played in three tough tournaments, and went to the Championship in all three: YMS EPIC, March Into Cups, and the MAPS/MSSL Independence Cup. In the 13 games of the three tournaments, the team gave up a remarkably low 11 goals (5 of which came in a loss to the Ukies in a 5-3 battle in the EPIC Championship). This run included 5 shutouts, and only one game where more than one goal was allowed. Nice work girls!
The team went to EPYSA residential camp in July, where they all worked hard and enjoyed some team bonding experiences.
In early August, the team competed in the West Chester Summer Classic, and finally broke the streak of coming in second, by earning the Championship medals. The team scored eleven goals on the weekend and conceded just one while posting three clean sheets.
Next up is the Battle at Hilltop tournament on August 21 and 22, then UK Elite team camp (evenings) at the end of the month. They will wrap up the summer with a one day tournament in Warminster at the Al Perlini Tournament on Labor Day Weekend.

| Fall 2009 Recap The girls had a terrific fall season as they competed in Division 1 of PAGS. The Hurricane had 6 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. They finished in second place for the regular season and faced York Elite FC in the semi-finals. In what might have been the most exciting and tense games that the girls ever played, they lost 2-1 in a nailbiter which was decided by penalty kicks after two scoreless overtimes.
After the end of PAGS season, the Hurricane took trip to Lancaster,PA and competed in the A Division of Hempfield Classic. They great a great weekend as they earned a spot in the championship by winning their first three games with scores of 4-0, 5-1, and 2-0. The tournament championship was a rematch of the PAGS semifinal the week prior as they were to face York again. The Hurricane went down 1-0 in the first half half, and as both teams battled hard, the rest of the match was scoreless and the Hurricane came up just short in a valiant effort. The weekend effort earned the team finalist trophies and the girls should be proud as they ended the outdoor season looking very, very, impressive.
The team will go indoors for a few months as many of the girls are training at USTC Academy and honing their skills by playing futsal at Episcopal Academy and at Indoor soccer at The Far Post.

| Spring & Summer 2009 Recap It was a very busy spring and summer in 2009. In April and May, the team played very well in an informal spring league, playing 7 games against quality teams from the area.
In June, the team had a great weekend away at the Hershey Invitational. The team lost a close semifinal game to eventual tournament champion, the Hershey Bears.
Throughout the the summer, the girls attended many soccer camps, including National Soccer Camp at Eastern University, Kevin Sloane Academy, and Penn Soccer School. The team spent a week of training at our team camp with Ian Shinton, our trainer from the NY Red Bull Training Program. Many of the girls also went away for a week of serious training and team bonding at the UK Elite residential team camp at the Church Farm School in Exton. A couple of our players also took a week of GK training with UK Elite and Red Bull.
There was also the Twin Valley Summer Classic, where the team placed 2nd out of 8 teams, losing a tough battle in the final to West Depford.
Unfortunately, the Spirit United Kick Off Classic was rained out, so the team will have continue to build their anticipation for competition as they work hard in practice leading up to the fall season opener on September 13th. It's Hurricane season, so just like the real thing, our Hurricane team should continue to gain speed and strength as the eye of the Hurricane rolls into the PAGS season!

| Are We Almost Ready for Cleats on Grass?!?!?!?!Spring is just around the corner!!! As we enter the final stretch of indoor training, leagues, and tournaments, the team is looking forward to returning to the the great outdoors on March 15th as the Brandywine Spring Travel League kicks off. The players will have a chance to test out the skills that they honed over the winter as they take on 7 top teams from the area on Sunday afternoons through mid-May. Some of the games will probably be played 11v11 as the teams prepare to step up to 11v11 in the fall.
Many of the players will also be playing in the HSC Intramural Spring League, which is fun and competitive with a mix of travel and recreational players.
The team is also looking forward to competing in the Hershey Invitational Tournament on the weekend of June 20th. The girls will play at least 3 games, as the excitement of soccer competition will be up against the fun of the water park and amusement park.

| Hurricane Earn Champion Trophies in Southampton The girls won three games in the Southampton November Classic to take the title for their age bracket. They battled the cold and tough competetion as they bested the Interboro Thunder, Warrington Flames, and the Yardley Thunder. The Hurricane looked sharp as they ended their fall season with a beautiful display of teamwork, solid passes, and constant communication.

|
| Hurricane Finish PAGS Season Stong The girls wound down their PAGS season with an impressive 1-1 tie at eventual division winner BUSC and came out even stronger the following week with a 4-0 victory at home against WCUSC. They battled tough competition throughout the fall to finish with a league record of 2 wins, 2 losses, and 5 ties. Their overall record was 12-3-5.
The team is looking ahead to a full menu of winter soccer opportunities. Many of the girls are participating in a 20 week training program which is run by PAGS trainers on Sunday mornings. A few are also training with UK Elite in a 7 week Thursday evening program. They will be playing in leagues at Starfinder in Manyunk in the Winter I session and then at Rocket Sports (YSC) in Winter II. They will also play in tournaments at YSC in January and Far Post in March. The team is also represented with a participant at training sessions at USTC Academy in Downingtown and two players are playing as guests with the U11A Heat at the Far Post.
For many of the girls, they love soccer so much, "there is no off season!!!"

| Hurricane Win USJL Columbus Cup The Haverford Hurricane (U10A girls) won four straight games this weekend to claim the champion trophies at the UJSL Columbus Cup tournament in NE Philadelphia. An offensive explosion led to 21 goals being scored by the Hurricane over the weekend as every team member either scored a goal or assisted on one. The real story was defense and possession as the girls held their opponents scoreless over the 4 games. The finals pitted the girls against a determined but overmatched Parkwood Inferno team, where the HSC squad emerged with a 7-0 victory. However, the third game of the weekend, against the Warrington Flames, was no walkover as the Hurricane battled to 1-0 victory. The lone goal was netted on a free kick by our stopper, who also anchored the defenser much of the weekend. The win was preserved by our GK who saved a penalty kick late in the game. The successful weekend brings the season record of the team to 8-2-2. They resume play this weekend against the BSA Rage in Berks County.

| Hurricane take Second Place in Sprit United Tournament The Hurricane team had a great weekend of soccer in Downingtown in late August. They won two games on Saturday and another on Sunday, giving the team a lead in the bracket going into the final game. The final game pitted the Hurricane against eventual tournament winner Hockessin Academy in a physical battle that left the Hurricane on the losing end of a 2-0 thriller. The Hurricane will have another chance as they will face Hockessin again in league play on October 25th. See the picture gallery on the left to see the team celebrate as they earned finalist trophies in the tournament.

| HSC Hurricane Edges LMSC Wildcats in July Friendly July 8, 2008 The HSC Hurricane, in their first scrimmage together, edged the LMSC Wildcats. It was a tight match throughout, with HSC hanging on to take a 4-2 victory thanks to a couple of spectacular saves by the Hurricane keepers. The athletic ability of the Hurricane squad was quite evident early on as they often recovered the ball at will from the Wildcats and often transitioned into quick strike counterattacks. There were also glimpses of the Hurricane's emerging foot skills as they attempted at times to pass the ball around with a purpose. Two of the Hurricane goals were long shots that hit the back of the net and one was a short shot after some skillful Hurricane dribbling faked out the LMSC keeper. Another goal was due a Hurricane wisely positioning herself at the far post as a shot was taken. The shot was a little wide but our player at the back post was there to poke it in and finish the job.
We hope to gauge our progress again in early August with another scrimmage. Planning is currently underway with prospective opponents.
