Field Maintenance

  ANCHOR
THE
GOALS

Please be sure there are at least TWO dirt bags on your goals' frames before playing any game (windy or not), especially on windy days.  The bags must be on the metal of the goal.  Our fields department is busy visiting fields and securing the goals, however some individuals like the canvas hsc bags we are using on some fields and they are stealing them so we need your help in keeping the goals anchored.  If you see a goal with only 1 bag on it or with no bags at all, please go to the local hardware store and get another one.  The HSC will reimburse you the cost of the bags if you wish.  If you think this is SILLY, read the story at this link.

    NO
HANGING
ON THE
GOALS

It is tempting for many players and their siblings to hang on the goal cross bars and the nets, this is VERY dangerous as it can lead to tipping and broken crossbars.   If they must hang on something, there is usually a playground nearby..have at it.  Again, if you think it is ok to swing on the crossbars, read the story at this link.

  MOVE
YOUR
GOALS

The HSC and The Department of Parks and Recreation are working together to keep the fields in the best condition possible as well as making less work for all of the organizations who share fields and the field maintenance crews.

1)   If you are the last game on any day, please push the goals off of the lined section of the field (beyond the end lines) so the grass can be cut and the neighborhood children and other teams do not wear out the goal mouths.  This also helps the next user group setup for their session without having to move our goals.  When using the turf field, please place the goals against the fence nearest to the pavilion.

2)  When you are practicing, please move the goals away from the normal goal mouths.  Usually a good location is in front of the goal mouths.  When you are done, please move the goals off of the field as stated in item 1 above.

Thank you,
HSC Board of Directors
