The HCUnited U19 Boys won the 2011 State Championship this past weekend by defeating Clearwater Chargers and Coral Springs.  When HCU began there were 3 players that played U9 and then stayed at HCU until U19.  Brendan McCarron, Andrew Buckley, and Alejandro Pena all played on this team.  They won Region Cup at U9 and then now in the last year of HCUnited they win the State Championship!  Congratulations players, coaches, and parents.

The Board of Directors of both HCU and RSL-FL are pleased and excited to announce that we have signed a Letter of Intent to merge our two organizations.

The U16 Boys Black traveled to Region 3 President's Cup in Alabama to compete against some of the top teams in the Southeast. The team went 1-2 on the weekend and did not advance however had a great season and have a lot to be proud of!  Congratulations!

Prep soccer: Hartlage, Keene recognized with Alvarez Award - Wednesday, May 25, 2011

If there is one thing you can say Jesuit's Tyler Hartlage and Steinbrenner's Carly Keene have in common, beyond being standout soccer players, it's that the two have parents who know how to play a good trick.
Hartlage, 18, had planned on traveling with friends to Port St. Lucie on Tuesday afternoon to watch Jesuit's baseball team vie for the 4A state title, before his mother, Patti, told him he and his parents were going to attend an alumni dinner for Spring Hill College (where he is slated to play next season).
Keene, 17, was told by her parents she was going to a party to celebrate her 18th birthday, which is a few days from now.

Sims Named Coach Of The Year - Monday, May 23, 2011
Eric Sims was named the Western Conference Coach Of The Year, in the American Division.  This is the 4th time Sims has received this honor.  His Gaither team won the Regional Championship and advanced to the state Final Four before losing to Durant 3-2 in a heartbreaking defeat at the University Of Tampa. read more ...

Bower Named National Team Scout - Friday, May 20, 2011
Scott Bower has been recently named as a scout for the US Youth National teams.  He is one of 4 people in the state of Florida who is assigned to identify the top players that should be given a look by the National team staff.  Scott will begin working right away and will be watching games and training sessions at different events and venues in an attempt to identify the top players as well as assess team performances.  Scott will also be involved with the US Soccer Training Centers that are hosted by local clubs in the Tampa Bay area.  Congratulations Scott!

Florida Premier League created as most recent addition to US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues - Wednesday, May 11, 2011

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 10, 2011) – US Club Soccer has announced the creation of the Florida Premier League, the most recent addition to US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues (NPL), which are leagues throughout the country with the highest level of competition in a given area.

 

The Florida Premier League, which will include the U-13 through U-18 boys’ and girls’ age groups, is comprised of seven clubs:

  • Central Florida Kraze/Krush
  • Jacksonville United
  • Space Coast United

HCUnited GK Returns From Spain Trip - Wednesday, May 04, 2011

We've saved the best for last in our look at the Region III ODP girls trips abroad as the 1994 girls dominated in their recent trip overseas to Spain. Coached by Brian Moore of Atlanta-area club Concorde Fire, the girls went 5-0 on their tour of Barcelona.  HCU GK Emily Ball who plays for the U17 Girls was one of the players who went on this trip.

Soccer gave FCTB's Pascal Millien the American Dream, now he's using that sport to help Haiti - Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Former HCUnited player, Pascal Millien remembers playing soccer for teams he didn’t know – for food.  Millien remembers sleeping on the roofs of his friends’ homes after his father kicked him out of the house for defying his demand to forget about soccer.  He remembers running ten miles to practice to make the Haitian national team – then running ten miles home.

U16 Boys President's Cup Champions - Sunday, April 03, 2011

  

The U16 Boys Black team coached by Brent Flemming and Kevin McCarron won the President's Cup Championship this past weekend in Auburndale, Florida. The team dominated both teams they played winning by a combined score of 9-0. The first game the team played Region D Champions FC Pensacola/ Dallas Texans and ended the game early by defeating the team by the 6-0 mercy rule mid-way through the 2nd half.  In the Championship game the team defeated the Region A champion Miami Stars by a score of 3-0.  The team has advanced on to the Southern Regional Championships in Alabama in June.  Congratulations players, coaches, and parents.

The Colorado Rapids select Eddie Ababio, a defender from the University of North Carolina in the final pick of the first round.  Ababio played his youth soccer at HCUnited.  Congrats Eddie!
