About Loudoun Soccer Travel Program
|
 |
|
The Loudoun Soccer Travel program provides the opportunity for boys and girls to participate in a competitive youth soccer environment that promotes excellence and sportsmanship. Loudoun Soccer currently fields 70+ travel teams in the U9 through U19 age groups. Travel teams train a minimum of twice per week and play games primarily on Sundays, with some Saturday games throughout each season. Loudoun Soccer travel teams compete in one of four leagues: Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL), Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS), National Capital Area Soccer League (NCSL) or Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL).

Loudoun Soccer offers a number of academy training programs for its travel players that focus on a variety of technical, tactical and physical areas, specific to positions or requirements of the game. The Technical Training Academy programs (TTA) is available to the U9 through U14 travel players and covers a wide variety of skills including first touch, individual foot skills, 1v1, street soccer, plyometric and speed and quickness (SAQ) training with the ball. Loudoun Soccer also offers two position specific academy programs - Goalkeeping Academy and Striker Academy.

Loudoun Soccer Travel Program has two fees:
- Loudoun Soccer Club Fee (covers TTA where applicable,administration, field fund, etc)
- Your Team fee (covers paid coaches , tournament fees, league fees, game fees, etc)
Each travel team prepares an estimated budget. Individual team budgets will be posted on the Loudoun Soccer website no later than Friday, May 25th.

Spring 2012 GK Academy

Loudoun Soccer GK Academy (MONDAYS)
Loudoun Soccer online registration is open for Spring 2012 Goalkeeper Academy. Our Director of Coaching - Goalkeeping, John O’Hara, is heading up our Academy again this season. John brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is the current Assistant Coach/GK Coach at George Mason University and is the Head Goalkeeper Coach for Virginia ODP - North District. In addition, John is a former NCAA All-American, as well as a former professional player in Ireland and the USA. He is recognized as one of the top goalkeeper coaches in the region and he will provide all our goalkeepers with the highest level of training. John’s staff includes former and current college players and coaches.
In addition to our U9/U10, U11-U14, and Premier Academy, we have a GK Elite Academy for U13+ GKs in VCCL and NCSL/WAGS Division I & II. As always, goalkeepers will be assessed and moved within the Academy to best serve their development.

Striker Academy Spring 2012

Striker Academy online registration is open for spring 2012. Our Striker Academy is designed to give players more experience around the goal and to help players gain the tools necessary to be effective as individual and partnered strikers. This 7 week program focuses on the fundamental technical and tactical aspects of being a goal scorer. Technical areas of focus include proper ball striking, shooting for power and accuracy, creative dribbling around goal, and making space to shoot. Tactical areas of focus include making proper runs, playing with your back to goal, and linking up with teammates. The Striker Academy will evolve and adapt to challenge players as they advance and strive for a higher level of training.
The instructors for the Striker Academy will be Maurice Hughes and Alan O'Hara. Both Maurice and Alan have many years of experience and both have been involved in the Striker Academy in previous seasons. The staff will push players to improve all aspects of goal scoring in a fun, competitive, and high paced environment. We expect it to be another great season for our players in Striker Academy.

Loudoun Soccer Travel Residential Camps
|

|
Loudoun Soccer is delighted to offer our 1st Annual Loudoun Soccer Travel Residential Camps, July 14-17 and July 18-21. The residential camps will be held at the Foxcroft School in Middleburg VA. The Foxcroft facility is top class and includes an indoor gym, four outdoor soccer fields, an Olympic size swimming pool, air conditioned dorms, and excellent dining facilities.
Players will receive instruction from the Loudoun Soccer Technical and Coaching staff. We will also be bringing in guest clinicians for both sessions. The focus will be on technical skill development, tactical awareness, goal scoring, possession with a purpose, and functional play.
In addition to our guest Clinicians, for our College Showcase, we will be bringing in current College Coaches. The College Coaches will be available to the players as resources throughout the camp. In addition, College Coaches will be conducting seminars for players.

Loudoun Soccer has accepted an
invitation to join the Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL). We will commence
playing in the league in the Fall 2011 season. Loudoun Soccer will be joined by 6 other quality clubs in Northern Virginia; Annandale, Arlington, Braddock
Road, Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association (FASA), Southwestern
(SYA), and Prince William Soccer Inc. (PWSI).
