NHSA U10 Festival 2003

2003 Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield NHSA U10 Festival
NHSA held its 6th Annual Anthem U10 Festival at the Rock Rimmon Sports Complex in Manchester on October 4th.

Anthem and NHSA annually put this favorite together for in-state recreation member teams. This year, 52 recreation teams from surrounding communities came and participated in the fun activities. The day looked like it would be a wash out, but the rain mostly held off and did not deter most players or parents from participating and having fun. The fields kept in fine shape as players enjoyed playing several short matches and participating in the free clinics offered by the NH Phantoms, the current state camp of NHSA. Many thanks to Paul Cleary for his work with the kids that day.

Particular thanks go out to Bob Willey and Ric Marion who organized the details and made schedule changes on the spot. Liz Thomas, Bob Cote and Maureen & Caryn Smith pulled duty at the team sign-in tent and parking lot detail.

Fil Farria, the event referee assignor, and Howard Houle, SYRA, guided the young USSF certified referees thoughout the day. Many thanks to the Manchester Red Cross Chapter for setting up the first-aid station and to the Manchester United Soccer Club and Dick Dryer, who arranged a refreshment tent and was the host site organization.

Volunteers from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of NH helped in the field preparations and clean-up. For more information on this event, contact the state office at 626-9686. The 2004 U10 Festival is planned for October 23, 2004.
