This is Mike’s eighth year with the Boys & Girls Club movement, and his sixth back with the Club in Ridgefield.  He began his career with the Boys & Girls Clubs in 2000 as a volunteer with the Club in New Haven. In 2001 he was introduced to the Ridgefield Club as he joined on as an intern to complete his senior year at Southern CT. State. From there, he worked full time upon graduating from Southern. He was hired to work exclusively with teens and athletics. In 2003, he took a job as the Program Director with the Boys & Girls Club of Kingston, NY and then was hired back as the Ridgefield Club’s Program Director in 2004.  Mike was named the Director of Operations in the Fall of 2006, and Interim Executive Director in May of 2010.

Mike believes completely in the Club’s mission and plans to dedicate his life to giving youth hope and opportunity.  Growing up in Bethel, CT., Mike was a former standout football and baseball player at Bethel High who still competes on the baseball diamond during his summers in the Housatonic Baseball league.

He is most known as the morale booster at the Club, constantly leading kids through sports and fitness challenges that teach them sportsmanship, self worth, discipline, and leadership and concentrating on building self- esteem and confidence in all Club members. Mike also has the ability to relate with teens and serve as a mentor for them through their High School years.

As Director of Operations Mike ensures safety, makes sure all members are accounted for and that staff is in place on a daily basis.

His background in Community Recreation Management (BS Recreation, Southern CT 2002) along with his minor in Psychology allows him to understand challenges with youth today and foster those needs.  Above all Mike truly cares for each child that enters the Boys & Girls Club doors and aims to make a positive impact on each one of their lives.

Mike resides in Bethel with his wife, Shannon, and as the Club's Interim Executive Director, calls the Club his second home.
