| Trivia Night - Monday, January 26, 2009 The First Annual Trivia Night & Social took place last Friday night in downtown St. Louis at Windows Off Washington. This was a historic evening because it marked the first "United" merged club social event. Over 800 club members and friends socialized and played trivia. "A special thanks goes out to the event coordinator Mindy Webert for doing a phenomenal job," said Director of Social Events, Ken Godat. "Mindy worked around the clock getting this event ready and we truly appreciate it."
This was the first of two Social Events planned for the club this year. The second event is the Coaches and Alumni Golf Tournament on May 8th at Forest Park Golf Course (details coming soon). The club is also planning an awards type banquet for next fall. Details on that are TBD as well.
"The night was first class all the way!" said Jeff Cooper, "It was fantastic to finally get all three clubs united in one room. This was the first of many social events for SLSG, and we kicked it off in style."

USDA - Everyone agrees – the United States needs to improve as a soccer playing nation. Following a comprehensive review of elite player development in the United States and around the world, U.S. Soccer has created the U.S Soccer Development Academy to improve the everyday environment for the elite youth player.
St. Louis Scott Gallagher has four teams playing in the US Development Academy (IL U16 and U18 / MO U16 and U18). We are the only club in the country to have more then 2 teams playing in this National League. Tom Howe coaches the Missouri teams and Dale Schilly coaches the Illinois teams.
Using the U-17 National Team Residency program as a model of training and focus, clubs chosen to participate in the Academy program will only compete in Academy programming, thus increasing the amount of time that can be spent training and improving the quality of matches. National Team and National Staff coaches will scout the Academy matches and trainings to ensure that players are seen in their natural playing environment.
Earlier this year in the 2009 MLS Super Draft, SLSG's Jack Traynor
