>Congratulations to the US National Team and SLSG Alum Mike Sorber (Assistant Coach) for qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.  Improve your soccer intelligence by watching them play tonight (Weds) vs Costa Rica in the final qualifying game - ESPN2 at 7pm.

>Improve your game this winter with Futsal at the Omni!  The Omni Sportsplex understands that the poor economy has effected everyone and even though the Omni was not granted a stimulus package by the government, they value their customers and want to extend these three offers as their version of assistance to your soccer team.  For more information - click here

>SLSG Winter Camp Information is now available!  The sessions will be mid November through the end of February.  You can now register and pay on-line.  The dates and locations are posted on our newly redesigned www.SLSGcamps.com
 
>The SLSG Boys Fall Classic was last weekend.  The rain was a problem but we did manage to move the majority of the tournament to turf at The SLSG Creve Coeur Facility and the Soccer Park.  Thanks to all those that moved their training to accomodate the games.  
 
>Reminder - SLSG put out an "Urgent News Flash" last week regarding a man who approached one our players who was heading to the bathroom during training at the SLSG Creve Coeur Complex - for more on this - click here.
 
>Reminder - SLYSA will have a boys winter league and a girls pre-high school 8v8 league. 

>Reminder - SLYSA Fields Update:
 
-Please remember there are no warm-ups allowed in the goal boxes.
-Also, there is a no smoking policy on the fields - smoking is only allowed on the parking lot.  Thanks for your cooperation.
-The fields will have a 1/2 higher grass in the goal boxes in an effort to save the goal boxes.  The rest of the field will be cut a 1/2 shorter. This is a trial and if players and coaches have a problem with this, please contact Kip Thompson at:  kthompson@slsgsoccer.com
 
>Reminder - The SLSG Girls Fall Classic is October 30 to November 1st and is also a College Showcase boasting over 100 coaches and 360+ applicants.  If you would like to work registration, concessions, parking, field marshaling, etc. either weekend, please contact Karla Merlak at kmerlak@slsgsoccer.com

>Congratualations to Austin Panchot for being awarded this week's STLsoccer.net Player.  Austin plays for the St.Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club U-13 Elite team. Austin was invited to the 2009 id2 US National teams program, which was held this past week in Zarephath, N.J. A team of the best 18 boys players from the Training Camp will have the opportunity to take a post-event international trip to the Netherlands and Germany, where the squad will have the opportunity to experience the day-to-day culture of some of the world's most well-known professional clubs while also improving themselves on the field via high-level training and game competition.  Audio - click here
  
>Kuddo's to our SLSG U9G Arsenal team for winning the U10G division at the Columbia Pride Tournament.  The girls won all 4 games by a combined score of 17-5.  They played very beautiful soccer all weekend.   Way to go girls!!!

>The SLSG U12 Missouri Boys Spain team coached by Dave Marty won the U12 8v8 division of the Challenger Sports Invitational in Kansas City this past weekend.
 
>The SLSG Missouri Girls U14 USA Blue coached by Dave Kupford won the U14 Silver Division of the Challenger Sports Invitational in Kansas City this past weekend.

>The SLSG Missouri Boys U-12 Spain won the U-12 8 v 8 gold division at the CSI tourney this past weekend in Kansas City.  They beat KCFC 5-2 in the final.

>Congratulations to the SLSG Illinois Girls U10 Green for winning their division at Little Illini SC last weekend.

>The SLSG Missouri Boys U9 Chelsea won the MO Boys Invitational tournament this past weekend.

>The Saint Louis University department of athletics unveiled the Billiken Half-Century Team, which was selected by the public via an online vote.  Congratulations to following SLSG Alumni / Coaches for making the list!

>Reminder - The St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame Banquet was held on October 1st - Congrats to Athletica's Lori Chalupny for winning the Bob Burns award!

>Reminder - Congratulations to the SLSG Alum, former Coach of both Scott Gallagher / Busch SC and one of the founding fathers of the Scott Gallagher SC - Tim Rooney for being induction to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame.  Tim coached the 1981 National Amateur Cup Champions for Busch Soccer Club.
