Two Successful Tournaments for the 98 Premier Black

Avalanche 98 Black coached by Rocco Vitacca were crowned Champions at the 2008 Jammer's Memorial Invitational in Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend.  The girls finished the tournament 4-0 and outscored their opponents 30-3.  The team won in pool play defeating the Paralyzers 10-0, Downtown Las Vegas 13-0, and Heat FC Orange.  The girls went down 1-3 in the first half, and rallied back to win regulations 5-3.  Way to come back girls!

Avalanche 98 Black finished as finalists in the U10 Boys division of the 2008 Challenge Cup.  The girls played boys teams from Ogden FC, USA, Razzia and Sparta.  The girls advanced in pool play as the 2nd seed and defeated Razzia in the semi-final match.  They met up with Sparta in the final, and although they possessed the ball for the majority of the match, were unable to score resulting in a 0-1 loss.  Great job girls, those boys didn’t know what hit them!!!
