Vermont State Cup
The Vermont State Cup is Vermont’s premier youth soccer event.  The 2008-2009 Champions in U12 thru U19 divisions will go on to represent Vermont at the Region I National Championships Series in Barboursville, West Virginia. Preliminary, quarter-final, and some semi-final matches will be scheduled May 15, 16, and 17.  The final’s weekend will be May 30 and 31. Vermont's qualifying league for the tournament is D-1 of the VSL (Vermont Soccer League).  Other qualifying leagues are the Region 1 Leagues.  State rosters and player passes will be inspected at all matches.  For the final weekend only, teams will need to present all Region I National Championship Series paperwork which will be posted on VSA website.  Tournament seeds will be drawn on February 16 and the brackets will be announced at the VSA AGM on April 4, 2009.   to Vermont State Cup Page...
  

Kohl's American Cup Minimize


The Kohl’s US Youth Soccer American Cup, a program to highlight recreational soccer players and   promote fair play, once again proved to be a major success among the recreational members of Vermont Youth Soccer. Last Saturday, June 11, the Kohl’s Tournament rolled into Essex, VT for a hot, fun filled day of soccer.   All players had the opportunity to experience a consistent and high quality statewide tournament in a fun, festival-like atmosphere.

Adding to the excitement to the weekend, organizers allowed players to run thru the sprinklers and handed out souvenirs including stickers, patches, bracelets, and certificates.  “The Kohl’s Cup was an exciting day for Vermont Soccer,” said Meg Munson, executive director of Vermont Soccer Association. “Kohl’s is a great partner of US Youth Soccer and we are excited about the enhancements to the American Cup.”

Kohl’s American Cup is the largest recreational youth soccer organization in the United States that boasts more than 65,000 participants and more than 100,000 attendees annually since its inception in 2000.  Vermont was one of Fifty-five state organizations to provide youth soccer players an opportunity to experience a consistent and high-quality statewide tournament in a fun, festival-like atmosphere.
